Investigation Reflection

This  week me and my group was finishing of  our Investigation about the wharf.The reflection was about what was hard about the investigation.Here is our investigation about the wharf.

How Can We Show Our School Values?

WALT: describe actions that will help us show the school values at school.
On Monday me and my group did a template about why we should show our school values .
One of our values is AKO. Ako means  Learning.Here are some reasons how we can show AKO.
We could help the juniors with their work when they need it most.
We could help the juniors by listening to them reading their writing and help them fix it.
We could help the teachers sort out what the juniors should learn about so that they can finally use critical thinking.
We could Help the junior by supporting them with their learning.

Rangimarie means Peace.My group came up with a lot of great ideas.Here are some ideas about How can we show Rangimarie.
We could help the juniors make sure that they are playing peacefully.
We could help the juniors by making sure they talk in a polite and peaceful way.
We could check if everyone is kind to one another,Just incase there is a incident.
We could also help the juniors by showing peace at the right time and not the wrong time.

Another important school value is Tukumarie.Tukumarie means Tolerance.I even got some ideas for Tukumarie but it was kind of hard to think of some.Here are some of my Groups ideas. 

We could help the juniors show tolerance around the school.
We could help the juniors  by making sure that they use Tolerance wherever they go.
Also if someone is doing the wrong thing,then we could make sure that they are doing they are doing the right thing.
We could help the juniors use tolerance inside and outside the classrooms.

Whanaungatanga is a school value as well.Whanaungatanga mean Building Relationship.Whanaungatanga was easy to find ideas about it.Here is some of my ideas.
We could help the juniors make sure that they build relationships at the right time.
We could help the juniors by making sure that they speak nicely to one another.
We could also try and build a relationship with your enemies.

Our last school value is Manaakitanga.Manaakitanga means caring for others.Here are my groups ideas.
We help the juniors show caring for others around the community.

We could help the juniors by making sure that they care for the school by picking up rubbish.
We could make sure that everyone is being careful of what they are saying to one another.
We could help the junior by showing that value in the right time and when we can show that value.

Strength

I am learning to identify and describe my strengths.
My strengths

3.My Class's Waka Of Strengths

My class did a template about what our strengths are,we were also reflecting on some of our strengths and also my class did a waka of strengths.Here are some of my strength. 
Reliable, Role Model, Leadership, Brave, Honest, Teamwork, Gratitude, Positive Attitude, Responsible, Respect and Confident.
These are my strength because people think that I am really good at these strengths around young kids.

The next part was reflecting on our strengths.
The two strengths I chose was RELIABLE and ROLE MODEL.
Here is why I  chose Reliable and Role Model.

One of my key strengths is ROLEMODEL.I show this strength by being a role model to the juniors.So that means I can be a leader to the younger people.

Another one of my key strengths is Reliable I show this strength a lot some people always rely on me to do jobs like Ms Aireen.Ms Aireen Always ask me to do jobs for her because I am a RELIABLE person. 
Rm 10 did a waka of strengths.

This week my class has been identifying and describing personal strengths. Having strengths is important because if you don’t have strength you would have a negative attitude.


My class is creating a waka of strength. This is a waka that defines who we are as a class which clearly identifies that strength that each student has in the class.

We got given a paddle which will be part of the waka and we were required to identify one key strength. The key strength that I identified is  Enthusiasm.This is a strength of mine because I can be Enthusiastic everywhere I go.

I used signs and symbols to illustrate the meaning of this strength on my paddle.Here is a picture of me and my paddle.

That is what I have been doing for Inquiry this week.

Technology was fun because I finally got to smoothen my necklace.

Our Investigation Questions

Investigation Questions
 Today my group was answering questions about the wharf which is our inquiry investigation.The questions were very important because we needed to find out a lot of information about the wharf.
Here is the and questions and the answers.

When is it the best time to go to the wharf??
The best time to be at the wharf is when it is summer.
Why is the wharf fun??
The wharf is fun because you get together with your friends and you can cool down from the sun
How can we keep the wharf clean??
We can keep the wharf clean by not littering and keeping the environment clean.
Is our school values important at the wharf??and why??
The school values are important to the wharf because it shows that we can take care of the  wharf.
Which part of the wharf is safer to swim in??
The part of the wharf that is safer , is all the way at the top by the sand , because you can touch the ground and you won’t drownd
How can we show respect to the native birds at the wharf??
We can show respect to the birds by making sure you are not killing them.
When was the wharf invented??
The Panmure wharf was invented between 1848 and 1850
Is the wharf safe for us??and how??
The wharf is sometimes not safe because the boats come in and out and we might get drowned because of that.   
Where are the dangerous places at the wharf??
The dangerous places at the wharf is by the boats or the middle of the sea because you can drown or you can get caught up with the rope of the boat
How long should we be at the wharf??
We should be at until 4 after school because , first of all it is not daylight savings anymore and second the tide will be out that time
Why should we have rules at the wharf??
We should have rules at the wharf  because if we have rules then we would feel safe around the wharf.
Why should we be careful at the wharf??
We should be careful at the wharf because there are big rocks under water.  
How can the values keep us safe??
The values can keep us safe because the values show us that we should be careful at the wharf.
How do people use the wharf??
How people use the wharf is that , they bomb / swim in it and other people use it for the boats
How does the wharf make the community happy??
The wharf makes the people because when they are hot and sweaty , they can go to the wharf to cool the down
What value is the most used at the wharf??
The value Rangimarie / Peace is most used at the wharf because no one at the wharf fights or goes against each other
How can we keep safe when boats are around??
We can keep safe around the boats by not going around it or not to go near it

Today for Maths Rm 10 was learning about fractions.Our teacher Ms Aireen gave us a big paper and a equation so that we can solve the maths equation.The equation was that it was Maddie's birthday and she was turning 20.They divided the cake into 4's because their was only four people at the party.So what we had to do was to figure out what was the fraction.Here is what my group have done.
